Yoga teacher Ms Vratika Arya's Session

As a provocation to the third line of inquiry the Yoga teacher Ms Vratika Arya talked about the importance of exercising and doing yoga asanas to keep oneself disease free.  She also talked about the precautions one needs to take while performing the asanas as the exercises need to be performed under expert guidance.

Prefixes and Suffixes

Students undertook formative task on letter writing and were assessed by their peers. They were introduced to the grammar concept of prefixes and suffixes through a power point presentation. Later on they came up with words containing prefixes and suffixes. They  played online games related to the concept. They also read reader “ Odysseus” and attempted questions on the same.

Talk Session by Ms Caroline Gowlett

A talk session by Ms Caroline Gowlett threw light on the different diseases that can affect us due to various reasons. Students researched on different diseases: communicable, non-communicable and life style diseases.

Healthy Day


The students shared their ideal healthy day with their friends. They created a day with a fine balance of food, recreation, exercise, play and hygiene. They watched a power point presentation on keys to a healthy life style and discussed about a healthy life style as well as stress, over consumption of anything and other aspects which result in an unhealthy life style.

Pronouns



 Students learnt about the usage of pronouns. They were introduced to two different kinds of pronouns – personal and possessive through a group activity. This was followed by a class discussion. To further reinforce the concept, they were shown a power point presentation on the same.They also attempted worksheets on Pronouns.

WHO WE ARE

In Unit of Inquiry, students were tuned in to the Transdisciplinary Theme Who we are, through pictures.
The discussion that followed led them to discover facts about themselves using the strands of the unit.

Students saw the cartoon of Popeye – The sailor man
and then the students were introduced to the Central Idea and lines of inquiry keeping in mind the concepts and key concepts.
 They were provided with a set of statements and had to give their opinion and identify the five important factors that affect health.
