Children attempted an Action cycle choosing an issue which was bothering them, acting on it to make things better and then reflecting on the actions to understand what changes it would bring to the country. Important issues like pollution, global warming, animal rights, child rights and rights of a girl child were taken up and actions suggested. Surely these children will bring in the change that is required.

Action Cycle
Children attempted an Action cycle choosing an issue which was bothering them, acting on it to make things better and then reflecting on the actions to understand what changes it would bring to the country. Important issues like pollution, global warming, animal rights, child rights and rights of a girl child were taken up and actions suggested. Our rights and responsibilities
Children were engaged in an animated discussion as they tried to identify the rights they have as students of Pathways. Promptly they identified their responsibilities that came with those rights. As these responsibilities took shape of essential agreements , they realised life was not going to be easy as ‘ rights would come only when they were responsible enough’.

Guess My Name
Students
were geared up for learning mathematics. Maths class started with an activity
called ‘My Magic ATM’. Students were required to solve the sums based on the
concepts of addition in pairs of 100 and 1000. They also tried a new way of
solving the story word problems by depicting it through drawings. To add more
fun to their learning we also planned a multiplication bingo session. To revise
the multiplication facts, we used a strategy called ‘Guess my name’ in which
badges were given to the students with a multiplication fact e.g 7X5 written on
each badge. The answer of the multiplication fact was supposed to be their name
e.g Mr. 35. All the children thoroughly enjoyed learning in their new grades.
Dinner for six
Showing their understanding of the three arms of the government, here we
have our students engaged in important discussions during the ‘dinner for six’.
They not only discussed important issues like theft, education for girl child,
poverty, animal rights and female foeticide but also passed bills and made
laws. They even identified punishments if the laws are broken.

Kinds of sentences
The
students inquired into different kinds of sentences through play and Power
point presentations. They were able to understand the four different kinds of
sentences- Interrogative, Declarative, Exclamatory and Imperative sentences.
They practised the concept in their English notebook though various activities.
