Unit of Inquiry- WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE AND TIME

Provocation to the Transdisciplinary theme – Where we are in place and time.

Transdisciplinary strands were given to students in groups and they presented their understanding of the strand through role plays. Other students tried to guess the words and everyone in the class contributed to come up with the transdisciplinary theme.
Students were shown pictures and they wrote down their observations about the picture. This was followed by a class discussion to encourage students to come up with the word “Revolution”. They then penned down their understanding of the Central idea and lines of inquiry through a placemat strategy.
Students also presented their understanding of the terms “Revolution” and “Evolution”  and the difference between the two  in the form of words and pictures through a Graffiti wall strategy.
Students came up with a list of revolutions which were later on grouped by them under three categories – Socio-political, economic and cultural. They created a mind map on “Kinds of Revolutions”.
