English


In Language,English, students read chapters of Robin Hood. They attempted a comprehension exercise on it. They were introduced to adverbs and its types: manner, place, time and frequency.  They were also introduced to biography through a jumbled up biography piece. They also formulated the features of a biography through a discussion. 
 

UOI


In the Unit of Inquiry, students discussed about the different factors that cause an imbalance in the ecosystem and what happens as a result of the imbalance. They also reflected on what our role is, as humans, in causing an imbalance in the ecosystem and how we are responsible for a lot of changes that are happening around us. Starting right from urbanisation to population growth, animal killing, use of finite resources and not being able to differentiate between needs and wants: students sensibly spoke about the various factors which can be controlled. They looked at various endangered and extinct animals and plants and tried to identify the cause for their extinction.

Mathematics

In Mathematics,students were introduced to multiplication and division by doubling and halving. They understood the rules of divisibility and attempted sums based on the same.

UOI


In the Unit of Inquiry, students shared their research on the different ecosystems, discussing the climate, features, flora and fauna, interdependence and food chain. To understand the ecosystem of the Aravali, they went for a walk through the forest to Lake Patauda, understanding the interdependence between the biotic and abiotic factors on the way. Lake Patauda served as a resource to view an aquatic ecosystem. Mr Ashok Kumar, the horticulturist from the school showed them around the school talking about the various plants in school and the abiotic factors that support them. Students attempted their first formative where they identified the various biotic and abiotic factors in a small ecosystem and created a travel brochure to promote the ecosystem.

Mathematics



In Mathematics,students were introduced to reading pie charts using fractions and percentages. They practiced interpreting pie charts. The story of Frooby the Dragon tuned the students into the concept of doubling and halving.

English- Prepositions

In Language,English, students read Robin Hood and attempted a comprehension exercise on the same. The also attempted  a summative task on debate writing keeping the essential elements of debate writing in mind. Prepositions was recapitulated with the students through activities and power point presentations.

 

Mathematics- Tessellation and Pentomino Shapes


In Mathematics,students were introduced to tessellations. They were shown how to create a tessellation using a tessellation tile. They were introduced to line graph and attempted the same in their note books and graph books. Numeracy Day was celebrated where students created their tessellations and also created figures with pentomino shapes.
